Chapter 5. USB Interface Installation
KinCony USB-232 cable is very useful to enable the USB port of KinCony 8051 MCU Development Platform51.
Below shows the USB-232 cable.
CD-Disk is contained inside the package.
The DB-9 port is for USB-232 cable, and the USB port in the left-bottom corner is for power supply.
Before installing the USB-232 driver, do not hook up the USB-232 cable. Run the setup in R340 directory on the disk. After setup is finished, hook up the cable, then windows will find new hardware. In the popped dialog, select automatically install. After this, we can find USB-SERIAL (COMx) in device manager. Now, the system’s USB is simulated to COMx.
After we know the COM port number, configure the ‘Comm Port Settings’ to the correct port in Keil. For ISP downloading, it is also needed to select correct COM port number.
